14 – 31 MARCH 2013

One Thoresby Street is proud to present the first in a new two-year programme of exhibitions in the Attic gallery space, and an exhibition by the winner of the One Thoresby Street Nottingham Castle Annual Open prize, Colette Griffin.

Colette Griffin’s sculptural practice uses a digital and mathematical coding process to challenge the formal qualities of shape. Using materials often associated with construction, architecture and design, Griffin’s objects create a conversation between a material’s tactile quality and the fluidity of form within space.

Colette Griffin (b.1990), lives and works in Nottingham.  Recent exhibitions include; Two Queens Members Show, Two Queens, Leicester; Colette Griffin, Luke Routledge, Jamie Wilkins, Thomas Woodcock & Diana Miguel, Two Queens, Leicester; Invasion, Transient Art, Birmingham; Daekyo Eye Level International Sculpture Symposium Exhibition, Sungshin Women’s University, Seoul, South Korea; and Testing Ground, Surface Gallery, Nottingham.

*15 March 4pm – 6pm – Colette Griffin will give an artists talk about her practice as part of the POWOWOW programme alongside One Thoresby Street artist Rebecca Ounstead & guest artist Samara Scott.
