An Action Event Or Other Thing That Occurs Or Happens Again was a project curated by One Thoresby Street co-founder, artist and studio member, Candice Jacobs.
The project examined repetition as a tool for the manipulation and control of the masses, thinking about the relationship between repetition, sound and the image; how sound activates text and how the repetition of words, images and actions can create a sense of familiarity or a relationship with something.
The launch included a performance by artist, writer and co-founder of Form Content, Francesco Pedraglio, who explored repetition from a fictional context using language and the physicality of form.
The launch was followed by the screening of Nam June Paik’s ‘Good Morning Mr Orwell’, 1984.
